The definition of isolation is the state of being alone or away from others, although we can be completely surrounded by people, but yet feel totally alone.

Up until about March 2020, I barely used this word but yet now it’s thrown around in everyday conversation. Isn’t it strange how things can change overnight? In February, we were in Australia on holiday, thinking about coming home & jumping back into work...little did we know what was round the corner & what was going to be a worldwide epidemic. Covid_19 brought such traumatic experiences, we lost loved ones & day-to-day life has been stopped in its tracks.

This is a piece, created with both brushes & palette knives titled ‘Isolation’, 120x100cm. She’s bold & sincere but cherishes the little glimpses of daylight that shine through the darkness. We are in this together!
